Super-sized snowman!

So we had a very successful snow day! This snowman is over ten feet tall! :D It was so much fun to make! The entire weekend was wonderful. We had a devotional Thursday night that lasted for hours because we found out that we didn't have school Friday. Then Friday we played in the snow and sat around matching movies for most of the day. Saturday consisted of snowman building, Ihop, Wii tournament, snow angel making, and fun pictures. It was an all around wonderful weekend with great friends. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

I am so happy with my life right now. I have not gotten overly stressed about school yet, work isn't bad, and my kids are great (even though they have been sick :( boo) Jonathan and I are doing great! :) I have a fantastic roommate. Life is great. I am very blessed!!!

Weekend Well Spent

I love sharing about my weekends! They are the greatest part of the week. *This photo was taken by my friend Kylee. The peace sign is from bracelets that we got in New York on spring break last year. CUTE!*

Friday after work and children I went to Jonathan's basketball game and then to Cracker Barrel with other members of the "old men" team and their families. It was a great time of food and fellowship.

Saturday I did a lot of nothing with that sweet boyfriend of mine. We watched a football game, had lunch, and talked. Then I went to a Harding basketball game with a group of friends. It was a blast even though they lost to Arkansas Tech (No offense techies...)

Sunday, Jonathan taught Bible class! I was so proud of him. I could tell that he was nervous but he did a great job. It is hard to be thorough on a difficult topic. Lunch with the boyfriend and another afternoon of nothing. I love having "no homework."

Monday was spent with four great children. Going to the park for a picnic, photos, basketball, and a movie. I am very blessed to have these families in my life.

I wish I had photos to share of my wonderful experiences. I'll get better at that with time.

School is in full swing now. The homework and reading assignments are heavy. Much stress will come from this semester.

I've got the blues

The first day of school blues.

I am very thankful everyday to be in occupational therapy school. It has been a dream of mine and I am lucky to be here. That does not mean that on the first day when teachers give out the syllabus I don't get terrified about the semester to come. It seems impossible that all of that work could get done in 12 weeks. This semester is even less because I will have two weeks of clinicals! :)

One good thing though, our pediatric OT class seems awesome! It was the first day and we were on the floor going activities that our (young, beautiful, intelligent) professor uses in practice everyday. Super fun!

Now I begin a "four day weekend." I am working at the office and keeping the kids tomorrow and Monday but I don't have classes. I already have SO much homework and reading to do.

Never a dull moment.

Jocelyn and I are doing "Grey's Anatomy/chick-flick/pizza" girl night! ♥

The Excitement of a Child

These beautiful ladies are Jocelyn, Jesse, and Raychel. This was back before Christmas. I had a great time at their family Christmas party.

As previously mentioned, I keep four kids after school. They are a great blessing to me. I have learned patience, kindness, and friendship from my experiences with them. I have also learned that the love one has for a child is incomparable to any other love. These are not my children, I have not known them all that long, but the memories we have made will never be forgotten.

Gracie, my little swimmer, missed the bus on Friday. She and Madison ride the bus from the middle school to where I pick up their sibling at the elementary school so I have a one stop pick up. Well since I didn't know that she missed the bus and no one could find her I terrified. I had shed a tear and was one second from being a blubbering mess when she came walking in the door, also crying. She was afraid that I had left her. I tell "my kids" all the time that I would never lie to them, that I love them, and that they mean a lot to me. *This little athlete swam 200 laps of the pool Saturday for a swim-a-thon! Way to go Gray!

Jack got another crown yesterday at the dentist and was very excited to show me.

Madison and Riley told me all about their Disney World adventures! They had a great time! :)

Jonathan and I had "date night" last night. Nothing too exciting because, after Christmas and holiday traveling, we are both quite broke. We went to his city-league basketball game. Got McDonald's on the way back and then watched a movie. We had a good time, just being together. ♥

And so it begins...

This is my first blog. I am not sure what inspired me to get it but I hope that someone gets enjoyment out of reading about my some-what uneventful life.

I'll start by telling about little about myself. I am a junior in college, majoring in Occupational Therapy. I hope that someday I will be able to make a difference in peoples lives. I live with my best friend, Jocelyn, who just happens to also be an OT major. She is a wonderful blessing. Her devotion to God helps me to be a better Christian. I have an amazing boyfriend, Jonathan. He will be graduating soon with his degree in Insurance and Risk Management. Who knows where he will go from here. I spend a few hours a day with four of the most wonderful children in the world. I love them and their families greatly. I also work on-campus in the "scheduling and events" office.

Winter break is coming to a close. Back to the daily grind of working and school. There is much to look forward to this semester though. A lot of fun things will be happening!
