Mrs. Davidson

WOW! It has been wayyyy too long since I've posted... So long that I have changed my name... (hence the blog title..)

I GOT MARRIED! ...almost 4 months ago...

The day was made perfect by being surrounded by people we love (and love us), having all the help that was volunteer to me, bridesmaids that made me laugh even when it got stressful, parents who love Jonathan and I unconditionally, and a man that said yes!

Anyone who reads this has already seen an exasperating amount of wedding photos so I will spare those from here but I will share some honeymoon photos!

Jonathan and I spent 5 days in Destin relaxing from the overly eventful summer that we had!

We ate AMAZING food everyday!
Had beautiful views! And enjoyed the quiet time together.

Now...
I'm two "class days" away from finishing all required coursework for my master's degree. I have been assigned my level two fieldwork experience locations and am EXTREMELY excited to begin those. Some resumes are out... Job market looks good for now... We are praying and waiting for God to lead us.

We have had a LOT of friends get engaged and have been trying to give them any advice we may have with our 4 months of wisdom.

Our apartment looks more like a home now then it did before. I'll try to add pictures of it next post (not 4 months from now next time).

Wedding Month!

Oh hello July... I've been anxiously waiting for July since December. Now I'm anxious as all get out. Every time my thoughts drift it is something about the wedding and I wonder if my to do list is complete, if we have all of the decorations we need, if everyone has their outfits perfected and hotels scheduled. Then I try to remind myself that this day is not about perfect decorations, gorgeous hair, or even the pretty dress. July 30, 2011 is about the joining together of two people who love each other and want to spend their lives serving the Lord together.

But... Since I have not posted in AGES, I will share some of the details.

All of the flowers are silk red roses. They are done, tagged, and ready to be distributed. I even put someone in charge of doing that so I won't have to worry about it.

Bridal portraits have been taken. They turned out wonderfully if I do say so myself. I can't show you just yet though... :)

Jonathan and I decided to wait until to see each other until I walk down the aisle. We debated as to if we wanted to share that intimate moment with the world but then we decided that we should share it with our loved ones. Mostly I wanted to get to see his face when I walk down the aisle!

These are the bubbles that people will (GENTLY) blow at Jonathan and I as we exit and Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Davidson! Sending wishes of love to the heavens.

Mom and I decided that since we couldn't find enough of the center pieces I wanted we would do three different kinds. This picture is one of the three.

The lovely Denise Karl is making one wreath with an R and another with a J for the entry doors. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!!!!! Love her too btw.

These are just a few of the smalls goings on around here... More later... I'll blog about my summer with the kiddos, wedding showers, and of course that darling niece of mine! :)

My precious niece, Crystal Rose Talley, was born on June 3, 2011. (ignore the dates on the photos... they aren't correct) She was 6 lbs 10 oz and perfect inside and out!

My sister, Felica, and her new sweet baby girl!

Mom (you can call her grandma now!) holding her first grandbaby!

We are so excited to have this little addition to our family! I cannot wait to get my hands on her! She's spoiled rotten already.

SPRING BREAK!

Oh boy! How I adore spring break! I have been sleeping in, reading, and doing some wedding planning.

I just finished reading "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks. I could hardly put it down. It's an unusual story about falling in love.
We spent the weekend in Wickes/Nashville. We finished up our registry and started marriage counseling.

I have been COOKING! (gasp!) This girl does not cook! I made Jonathan breakfast Monday for his first day of work, then I made sweet and sour meatballs for dinner last night. Tonight is lasagna and apple dumplings (from scratch!)

Speaking of Jonathan's first day! He LOVED it! He has his own desk.. duh... but he has space for a small fridge and he's excited about that. Mr. Risk Engineer got a laptop for his travels, a credit card, and a cell phone. He is feeling like a big wig right about now. He will be gone two weeks in April traveling for work.

Then in May I will (most likely) be in Fayetteville for clinicals for two weeks. Talk about a rough month or so.

Our engagement photos are getting taken this weekend! YAY! I'll upload them as soon as I get them back. I am very excited. Despite my pale self I couldn't be more ready. Jonathan is already super tan (more than his normal tan) so I'm kind of sad about that but it's just who I am.

Tomorrow, I will hopefully be printing wedding invitations and starting to address them. They won't be mailed until May but my class schedule will keep getting busier until then. Also, showers will be right around the corner and I don't want to be writing thank you cards and invitations at the same time... talk about way in over my head...

Until next time... :)

Nicholas Sparks!

Nicholas Sparks was at UCA last night and Jocelyn, Caitlin, and I went and heard him lecture and got our books signed. He spoke about his life that led him to being an author, his inspiration behind several books, and his family. It was funny, sad, and eye opening all at the same time. Sparks is a wonderful speaker. When it was our turn to meet him he was so genuine. He gave each of us our individual time and he signed autographs until every single person in line was able to meet him. I have even more respect for him now. I started "The Lucky One" last night. I'm sure I'll end up reading all of his books now. :)

God Answers Prayers

I feel for this post I should start with the background story... Jonathan got an internship last spring at AMC. He worked for free for the semester in hopes that they would offer him a job in May when he graduated. In March they told him that an offer would be made so he turned down a job at State Farm in Tulsa. May came around and the offer fell through. The company had gotten bought out and had a hiring freeze. The economy was so poor that no one else was able to hire either. In later summer, a family friend introduced Jonathan to Glen and he has worked for him part time since then. This has been enough to pay the bills but is not a career move.

So.... We've prayed and asked that God will show us His plan and that in His time something wonderful would happen for Jonathan.

Thursday, Jonathan got a call from American Management Corporation in Conway. They asked him to come work for them, no interview, no waiting, they wanted him to start on Monday! We were both so shocked! This is what we had been waiting and praying about for a year!

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!

Jonathan will be starting in two weeks. We were so grateful to Glen for the job that he has now that we wanted to make sure he had enough time to get someone new in and trained before Jonathan left. So two weeks from tomorrow, my fiance will start as a risk manager for AMC in CONWAY!

Mr. Jonathan Todd Davidson, Risk Manager
^ok... I'm a little excited and a lot proud!

We went shopping for slacks and "professional attire". It was fun. I can tell that he is excited to start his career.

Please keep this new journey in your prayers.

February...

How quickly February is passing!

I realized today how quickly time has passed since the engagement. How much has gotten done and how much remains... There just doesn't seem to be enough time in a day to take care of everything...

Conway has gotten an excess of snow days this semester. UCA got three! days off in a row! That is just crazy. 8 inches of snow meant no tests that week!

So we enjoyed three days of sledding and sleeping in. The snowman came the previous snow.

I also got quite a few wedding things done over the snow days. Karen and Caitlin went with me to Events Rental and we rented columns, aisle makers, a flower arrangement for the food table, and an easel for the bridal portrait.

Karen and I went and picked out invitations, a guest book, some grooms table decorations, and a few other things that needed to be purchased during the half off sale at Hobby Lobby :)

Jonathan and I decided on a grooms cake and the wedding cake! (no pictures for now... you'll have to come and see!)

This weekend was spent in Stillwater, Oklahoma for Campus Encounter. It is several campus ministries coming together for classes and to learn from one another. I went to a class for couples and it was wonderful. They talked about how men and women are different and how sometimes you just have to come to the realization that you won't be the same and you just have to work through that. They gave lots of advice for sharing a Christian marriage. It was perfect timing.

That's all for now... Off to bed... Classes in the morning... On President's day... :-/

Photographer? Check!

I am very excited to announce that we booked a photographer! Her name is Erin Henry and she owns Barefoot Photography out of Jacksonville. We met for coffee (aka white mocha.. no coffee for me) and discussed the plan for our big day. She is so open to our ideas and really wants us to get exactly what we want. Our package includes rehearsal dinner, a bridal session, the entire wedding day, and three cds with all copyrights so that we can have a copy and both of our families can have one also. I could not be more excited!

I can't wait until I can share all of our wedding photos with everyone.... Only 175 days left lol (I only know this b/c of this new facebook application I got) ;)

The Starting Lineup

Wow! How busy life can be. I started graduate school a few weeks ago and I am currently enrolled in 18 hours. Jocelyn and I are cleaning 3 houses in Little Rock every other Friday. I also clean two other houses, one every other week and the other once a month. I am blessed to still be able to watch my kiddos a few days a week. Being an student, an intern, and the workload is already a lot but I am sure that I will be able to handle it.

Monday night I went to a lady from church's house and she helped me make a list of some wedding things that I need to get finalized.

I'm going to leave you with our starting lineup!

Maid of Honor: Jocelyn Pendergist

Bridesmaids:
Karen Ford

Felica Burkholder (the sister)

Best Man: Derrik Womack

Groomsmen:
Nick Reeves (the *future* brother)

Stan Chivers

We are truly blessed to have such great friends to share this day with us.

Bring it on 2012

Since my last post a lot has changed.

I FINISHED all of my graduate coursework and have begun the last leg of requirements to become an OT. I have 23 weeks of fieldwork between me and my diploma. Week one behind me already! It was exhausting. My body is not used to being active for that many hours per day, but I am getting used to it and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. A classmate of mine is there with me and we are getting good feedback from our clinical instructors. We are leading sessions, writing notes, and participating in everything we can.

Jonathan and I spent Thanksgiving with his family in Nashville and Christmas with my family in Wichita, Kansas! I absolutely LOVED getting to see my parents, sister, and sweet niece for a week. She is growing up so fast and I can't wait until she is old enough to come spend a week with Aunt Rose, Uncle Jonathan, and Aunt J. (who will all spoil her rotten before we send her home). Jonathan and I are now sporting our new cowboy/girl boots that mom and dad got us for Christmas. I also got a ticket to see Rascal Flatts with my bff in February! Jonathan got me a new Bible with my "new name" on it! Rose Davidson is official ladies and gentlemen.

We enjoyed watching two of our closest friends be united in marriage last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. LaBrun! It's official!! :)

I had my "last" official day as Rose the childcare giver. BUT you and I both know that nothing will keep me from the children that I dearly love. I miss them already!!

Today Jonathan and Jocelyn are both ill with the cold/congestion nonsense. I laugh b/c I was the first in this marriage to sleep on the couch. Poor JD couldn't breath last night and was snoring like a saw. Gotta love him.

This weekend has been a lazy one. Enjoying it while we can. We have so much planned for the coming weeks. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful Christian friends to fill our calendars with events together.

That's all for now... Maybe I'll get better at blogger...
