Day 17

Day 17-Something you’re looking forward to

Oh! I'm looking forward to Christmas! (Christmas break first!!)

December brings so many exciting things this year. I am graduating (gasp!) and turning 22 (double gasp!!)
I get to see my family for an extended amount of time, which doesn't happen often.
I LOVE Christmas lights and Christmas decorations. I've already put up my tree and driven around looking at the lights some in Conway.
I love giving gifts. I love wrapping them and seeing people's expressions when they unwrap what I picked out or made for them.
Christmas season seems to put everyone in a better mood and it is my absolute favorite.

Day 16

Day 16-Dream house

Ok so I couldn't find something exactly how I imagine that my dream house will look like but I want a lot of land and a pond/lake! :) I picture having something kind of "modern rustic"... It's hard to describe but I saw it once on the drive back from Hot Springs. It was FABULOUS! I wanted to go buy it right then. (Then I remembered that I'm a poor college kid... ha!)

I want lots of land for my kids to go play outside and a pond to teach them how to fish!!!

My dream home includes a husband with two boys (back on the kick of I'll probably have kids). We'll spend so much time outside. They can hunt on our land and I'll cook from a kitchen that overlooks an amazing view so I can watch them while I work.

This all makes me sound very country but it also needs to be close enough that it doesn't take me very long to go to Wal-Mart! haha!

Day 15

Day 15: Bible verse

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Day 14

Day 14-A picture you love

I adore sunsets. I feel like they are a gift from God. His creation is so beautiful and was meant for us to admire and appreciate. The ocean is calm and looks like it will go on forever. The colors of the sky are changing. I love it.

This particular one was taken on my family vacation this summer. We went on a cruise in the Caribbean. It was a wonderful time and was very relaxing! :)

Thanksgiving & Black Friday

Thanksgiving was yesterday! :)

I made my first sweet potato casserole. It was VERY sweet. Too sweet I think but everyone liked it. I made it from scratch because I didn't know that you can use the cans of sweet potatoes. ha!

After we finished those, mashed potatoes, and mac&cheese we went to Jocelyn's cousins house. She had made many other wonderful and delicious things. It was a small group of 8 but we sat around eating and talking for a long while. It was a great way to spend the holiday.

Jocelyn and I headed to bed after searching through all of our black Friday ads one more time. Then we woke up right before 11 pm to drive to Walmart. We got a few movies, a jacket, and a game for the boys. Then it was off to Old Navy - THE WORST! We waited outside for a while, then we got a few of the things we wanted (jeans mostly) and waited in the checkout line for TWO hours. It was the longest line I had ever seen. It wrapped around the entire store. Target was next on the list. They opened at 4 am and they had the longest line outside. We decided not to wait and just got in right when the line cleared. We got all the movies on our list and some fleece pullovers that were on sale too! :) Then we waited in a very long line, BUT they were so organized that it went by really fast. My applause goes out to Target today.

All in all I would count it a successful trip but I plan to shop online next year. It was too early and cold for the small things that I was buying. People who didn't get what they went for were able to buy it online while they waited to check out with other items.

I hope everyone had a fantastic thanksgiving.
I am already listening to Christmas music and plan to put up the tree soon! :)

Day 12

Day 12-What you believe

I believe in a forgiving Savior, that He came to this earth to die for me and for you!

I believe He is coming back for me someday.

I believe the Bible is truth.

I believe in true love.

I believe that the little things matter the most.

I believe in working for everything that you have.

I believe that children can teach and inspire us all.

I believe that good family and friends are the richest of blessings.

I believe that being a parent is a great sacrifice and we should all be so thankful to have our parents.

I believe that face-to-face contact is more meaningful than a text message or email.

I believe everyone should celebrate their birthday! No matter how young or old.

I believe you should always stay a child at heart.

I believe that giving is better than receiving.

I believe that elderly people are much wiser than I am; therefore, I can learn so much from them.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance.

I believe chocolate can make almost any day better.

I believe in random acts of kindness.

Day 8

Day 8 - A Place You’ve Traveled

New York! We went two spring breaks ago for a mission trip. We worked in Harlem during the day and got some free time at night to see the city. My favorite part of New York? China Town!! I got some really awesome things for way cheaper than I could have gotten anywhere else. It was a lot of fun.

Time Square is AMAZING! It is crazy busy all the time. When we first got to New York the shuttle dropped us off right in the middle of Time Square and I just couldn’t believe how beautiful it was that time of night. The lights are crazy! I loved it.

Oh! And we went to Central Park… now to most people in New York this is amazing. They never see grass lol… It was pretty but not as exciting to me as most New Yorkers…

I love to travel and hope to go back to New York someday. We didn’t get to see a show on Broadway so I’m putting it on my bucket list.

PS. MY ROOMMATE GOT ENGAGED LAST NIGHT! So excited for her and her fiance! :) It was her 21st birthday and he took her to dinner then drove her to her favorite place (Big Dame Bridge) with a blindfold on and told her how much he meant to her. Then got down on one knee and popped the question! Too cute!!! We surprised her today with a couple of magazines and an organizer. It'll be fun getting to help with wedding planning (even if it is just a little). I love Lydia and could not be more excited for her!

Day 7

Day 7-Favorite movies

These are the first ones that came to mind...

Day 6

Day 6-A picture of something that makes you happy

I know it says A picture but these are a few pictures of my kiddos. By my kiddos I mean the ones that I watch. (I am not adding in the word babysit because they are much too old for a babysitter ;)..) Four of those I pick up after school. I have done that for the better part of my college career. The other two I spend this past summer with everyday. I have grown very close to all of them and love them dearly. They are not always perfect but I will love them forever no matter what.

I look forward to spending time with these precious children everyday. I tell everyone stories about the silly things they say and the sweet moments we share. The Karls, Smothers, and Teftellers are all blessings from God! :)

Day 5

Day 5-Your siblings

I have been blessed to have one older sister. Her name is Felica. She is 23 years old and is employed at Wal-Mart. She is a part time college student with an undecided major (I think…). Most exciting of all: She is expecting! I am extremely excited to be an aunt! We do not know yet whether it is a boy or a girl but I do know that he/she will be SPOILED!

My sister was not always my best friend. Growing up we fought a lot. But when it came down to it we were always there for each other. I’m sure she didn’t always like have a little sister riding her coat tail but she put up with me. In high school she helped me with make-up and boys. She was there for me during my first big break up. Since we moved around a lot we would try to help each other adjust. Sadly, we ate together at a table by ourselves for much of our first year in a Texas high school. As we’ve gotten older we’ve become much better friends. When she moved out for college the fighting stopped. As soon as we didn’t have to bicker about bathroom and phone time our relationship was able to focus more on the love that we had for one another. We attended the same college for one year and often met to have lunch. It was nice to get to spend time with her. I miss her dearly now that I am so far away. I hope that someday we will live close again so I can spend more time with her and that baby to come.

Day 4

Day 4-My parents

My parents could not be more wonderful. Both have worked my entire existence to ensure that I had everything that I needed and most of what I wanted. We have taken fabulous vacations together but my most favorite memories are from the simple things in life.

My beautiful mother is a cashier at wal-mart. I’m not sure how she does it. My feet hurt when I stand up for an hour and she stands on hers for 8 hours 5 days a week (at least!). She deals with some of the worst attitudes and people do not treat cashiers with respect. She is far underpaid for all of her efforts. She is an extremely giving person. No matter what the holiday she wants to pick out something wonderful for everyone and never thinks about herself.

My dad is my super hero. He works for Hawker Beechcraft, it’s an aircraft company that makes and maintains private plans. He is one of their parts department managers. He has to travel a lot for work. He doesn’t always enjoy it but he does it for us. We have moved several times over the past 8 years because of his job. I know that he hates having to leave his friends and family and he hates doing that to us too but he knows that it is what will be best in the end. He is a great listener. I can talk to him about anything and he always listens and tries to help. I am very much a daddy’s girl.

My parents are far away now and I miss them everyday. I hope that we'll all be neighbors someday! :)

Day 3

Day 3-Your first love

Ah! My first true love! :)

His name is Jonathan Davidson. He and I have been together for over two years now and I could not be happier. He is a college graduate with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management. God blessed me with a strong Christian leader.

He taught me how to hunt

how to fish

and attempted to teach me to golf. lol

We have been shared so many memories and will have a lot to come! I can't wait! :)
